Improving Taco Bell's ordering process

Improving Taco Bell's ordering process

Currently, ordering from Taco Bell or its mobile app can be frustrating for customers due to a lack of seamless experience. Customers often get lost during the checkout process, causing them to abandon the app or the order altogether. We aim to completely revamp the ordering process, making it more user-friendly and ensuring use feel confident that their order has been successfully placed.

Challenge

We encountered several obstacles during the process, including a lack of stakeholder understanding of the research phase. Our stakeholders initially focused solely on the visuals and did not see the value of user research in identifying issues. We had to educate them on the importance of the research, which caused a delay in our deadline. However, once they understood its significance, we were able to proceed smoothly.

Solution

Our goal is to boost conversion rates through the implementation of an improved checkout experience, which includes enhancing the payment section and reducing the number of validation calls currently made to Hybris during the checkout process.

Result

The project focused on overhauling Taco Bell's ordering process to address customer frustration and abandonment issues. Through extensive user research, including surveys, interviews, and data analysis, key pain points were identified and competitive benchmarks were established. The design phase involved creating wireframes, prototypes, and conducting usability testing to refine the user experience. The resulting interface boasts simplified navigation, clearer categorization, and enhanced customization options. By streamlining the ordering process and providing clear order confirmations, the project aimed to significantly improve user satisfaction, increase order completion rates, and instill greater confidence in customers regarding the successful placement of their orders.
